The Islanders

A community of people are taken from their homeland to an island where they lose all memory of the past and must reinvent their lives, language and culture. Their only means of escape from the island is through learning boatbuilding and swimming, both of which are outlawed by the new government. The video is based on a Sufi fable and was shot in the Anza Borrego and Joshua Tree deserts.

Une communauté de personnes est emmenée de son pays natal vers une île où elle perd toute la mémoire du passé. Ils doivent réinventer leur vie, leur langue et leur culture. Leur seul moyen de s’échapper de l’île est d’apprendre à nager et à construire des bateaux, deux activités interdites par le gouvernement. La vidéo est basée sur une fable soufie et a été tournée dans les déserts d’Anza Borrego et Joshua Tree en californie du sud.
